Capacity and Performance of Hard Drives

Hard disk drives are available in different capacities from 100 GB, 500 GB to 1 TB or even 2 TB. The capacities of the hard drive completely depend upon your choices and data storage requirements. There are number of storage devices available in the market like floppy drives, flash drives, CD’s, DVD’s etc out of which hard disk are the consistent and permanent sources of storing data.

A classic desktop hard drive could save around 512 MB and 2 TB’s of data. A greatest activity hard drive can rotates at the speed of 10,000 or 15,000 rpm. Different hard disks are used in desktop and laptop computers, mobile hard drives which are used in laptop computers are generally smaller in size with lower storage capacity. Upcoming storage requirements have increased the need of upgraded hard drives with the capacity of 2 TB’s and more.
